it takes a growing leadership team to do all that God has called us to. that leadership is best defined as “serving others so others can serve.” 

Everyone is called to minister, but God has given five specific MINISTRY GIFTS to the Church that help individuals find their place to serve. These gifts are called the FIVE-FOLD MINISTRY GIFTS. Each one has a specific part to play in the building up of the Church as Jesus established it because these gifts exist to help others find their purpose in the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12).

The FIVE-FOLD MINISTRY GIFTS (as described in Scripture) are as follows:

Apostles: From the Greek word “Apostolos” meaning “Sent One.” Someone with this gift has a call to start a new church or ministry.

Prophets: One who sees and hears God’s Word and faithfully shares it to the church. Someone with this gift receives and gives miraculous words that confirm or correct.

Evangelists: One who shares the GOOD NEWS and teaches others to do the same. They are eager to bring people to salvation and baptism.

Pastors: Someone who has a unique ability to care for people as they grow in their faith. These people are quick to help others in need, providing counseling and care. They “shepherd” God’s people, keeping them safe and together within the church.

Teachers: One who can teach Scripture faithfully and accurately. They are passionate about teaching others the truth about God and the Church.

You may already recognize one (or more) of these gifts in you, That is amazing! We want to help you further discover, develop and deploy these gifts in our church and throughout the community. The leadership of the Intersection is made up of people who possess these specific gifts and help others discover their own unique gifts in the Body of Christ.

These FIVE-FOLD GIFTS work together in a pretty remarkable way to bring EVERYONE together around the vision and purpose of the Church.

Although the pastor and leadership team help provide overall direction in the church, Scripture tells us that it is the leadership’s job to equip everyone in the church to realize their ministry potential wherever they are (not just do the ministry themselves). This means we need you! You have something unique to offer that NO ONE else can bring to the table when it comes to ministry at the Intersection.

All of us were created by God to make a difference in the life of another person. God has a place for you where your unique abilities and passions can touch the lives of others. We believe that your life will never make sense until you find, develop and fulfill that purpose.
